Self Care 4-8-20

Rest when you’re tired. Take a drink of cold water when you’re thirsty. Call a friend when you’re lonely. Ask God, the Universe, Your Higher Power to help when you feel overwhelmed. Many of us have learned to deprive and neglect ourselves. Many of us have learned to push ourselves hard. Many of us are afraid the work won’t get done if we rest when we’re tired. The work will get done, it will be done better than work that emerges from tiredness of soul and spirit. Nurtured, nourished people, who love themselves and care for themselves, are the delight of the Universe. They are well timed, efficient and divinely led.

Today I will practice self care.

  1. This is such a beautiful reminder. I struggle remembering to care for myself in so many ways. I’m learning, as I gain more sobriety, but it is so nice to read it too.
    Thanks for this post! ❤

    • Thank you and I struggle in the same area. I’m very co-dependent but am learning to take care of me first and not feel guilty for doing so. I’m so happy it was a positive reminder today. I have to remind myself too. ❤️

      • Oh my gosh! I literally have the hardest time with co-dependency. In fact, there is a book I want to read, but I refuse to buy it because I’m worried what someone in my family will thing if I do. That’s the level of co-dependency I have….so frustrating.

      • Lol. Well we are not alone. If I were you I’d buy that book and read it. If your family judges you, that’s the problem. If they ask why the book your answer could be what my priest always tells me “because I’m No good to you until I’m good to myself. I’m being good to myself so I can create a better me” ❤️
