You know those cold, cold nights.
When the nightmares never end,
For weeks and weeks.
Making you feel crazy & weak.

You know those cold, cold nights.
When the thoughts never cease.
When you’re trying your best,
And you still fall short.

You look in the mirror.
You see a helpless soul.
But others see a monster.
A stench & unbearable.

You look in the mirror,
To try that pep talk.
But your fears stalk you.
And you attempt to escape.

You know those cold, cold nights.
When your brain feels heavy & numb.
Like a claw is squeezing the life out of you.

You know those cold, cold nights.
The images of their faces flash by.
The stern and serious faces.
Like you’re some sort of criminal.

You know those cold, cold nights.
Your mind is done for the day.
You’re done fighting it.
You’re done apologizing.
