As I was reminiscing today about my struggles with depression, I remembered the day that I wrote this. I was seeing everything so dark and dreary… then realized that I had dark sunglasses on that was distorting my view. That is exactly what depression does to many… make everything seem dark. I pray that God’s Light will shine into the darkness that surrounds so many of us in various periods of our lives.

As I was traveling today,
with dark sunglasses on…
I realized what seemed real,
was actually so wrong.

For the whole world seemed dreary,
under darkened skies…
But it was only distorted,
by the glasses covering my eyes.
