I was at Walmart the other day with my mom and as I followed Mother Superior around there was music playing in the store. Janet Jackson came on and I immediately began singing along. I am a huge fan of Janet Jackson!  I love everything about her. She’s beautiful, super hot and is an amazing performer. I love her music!  Like many of us women, Janet has had her share of failed relationships that have played out in the media. Despite her fame and fortune, I can certainly resonate with many of her failed relationships.  If she’s anything like me she has a tattoo on her forehead that says “boyfriend wanted…good guys need not apply”. 

I have been working diligently on my 2017 goals. I have spent much time reading, learning and writing everything I want to accomplish in the upcoming year.  When my mother and I got home that night, I went straight to my room to work on my goals. While I was doing the work, I still had that song in my head so I pulled out my CD and was listening to the song as I did the work that I believe will be manifested in the new year. 

The great part about listening to music alone is you can repeat your favorite song 50 times if you feel like it. Typical “Velma” behavior. As I listened to Janet belt out the lyrics to “Someone To Call My Lover” over and over again, it became clear how lonely I have been for over a year since leaving my ex. I am sure that many of you single ladies can attest that after being in a failed relationship with the “man of your dreams” who ended up being a toad can put a damper on ever wanting to date again. Well it happens. It happened to me. 

That night the lyrics actually prompted me to make the decision to add “boyfriend” to my 2017 list of goals. They say if you write your goals down and refer to them daily, your dreams will come to fruition. I thought I’d blog the lyrics to Janet’s song to refer to in the hopes of manifesting my dream guy. I mean what have I got to lose? Janet found her dream guy. He’s a millionaire and now she’s having a baby!!  Now I am not remotely interested in having a baby but a traveling companion would be nice. If Janet can do it, so can we!!! In any event, what does Janet have that we don’t?  Personally, I think I have many similarities! Who knows maybe everyone reading with me today will manifest their dream guy too by just reciting the lyrics!!! So here it goes!!

I spoil them when I’m in love. Giving them what they dream of. Sometimes not a good thing but I’m blind. I love hard with everything, giving my all. More than they. I’ll take my friends advice this time I’ll do it differently.
